Christmas is almost here! With all the parties, shopping, decorating and wrapping, we all need a break to just enjoy the many holiday light displays in the Gilbert area. Have you had a chance to go out to see them? Here is a list of our favorites and then some!
Neighborhood Light Displays
Christmas on Comstock – Have you heard of Christmas on Comstock? Last year the 13 neighbors won ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight”. A festive display by these welcoming neighbors. You can drive through or you can find a place to park and walk though as well. It is worth the short drive to Elliot Road just east of Higley to enjoy this display of over 100,000 lights. You can go from Sun-Thurs: 6:00pm – 9:00pm (Dancing Lights) & 9:00pm-10:00pm (Static-No Music) and Fri-Sat: 6:00pm – 10:30pm (Dancing Lights). Click here for a map that will help you get in and out of the neighborhood if you are going by car or if you are choosing to walk through – the map shows you where you can park. This year they are raising funds for the Make a Wish Foundation – giving back! Christmas on Comstock will be open until New Year’s Eve.
Peanut’s Christmas – Another Gilbert favorite is the Peanut’s Christmas located at 146 N. Quail Lane, Gilbert. This display will win the hearts of all the Charlie Brown and Snoopy fans out there. The home features over 150,000 lights all glittering with a Charlie Brown and Snoopy theme. This display is just southeast of Elliot and Cooper. Go to your GPS for directions. Unfortunately, there is no link for this display.
Loop of Lights – San Tan Valley – Some very enthusiastic neighbors have gotten together to create a holiday light display to rival the professional light displays in our area! Loop of Lights is located in the Waverly Subdivision at Pecan Creek South in Queen Creek. Available for viewing now through Dec 25th from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. Click on the link for more info.

Gilbert/Phoenix Area Venue Light Displays
If you are interested in some spectacular and diverse light displays by some favorite venues, we have it covered! Take a look below at some favorites:
Christmas Lights on the Mesa Arizona Temple Grounds – This is a lovely display and each night there is free entertainment as well. Free parking is available and you will fully feel the joy of the Christmas Seasons here…“Join us in a celebration of the birth of Christ at the Mesa Arizona Temple Gardens this Christmas Season. As you thrill to the sights and sounds of the holidays, we hope that you, your family and friends will enjoy: hundreds of thousands of colorful lights; uniquely illuminated palm trees and flower gardens; an inspiring nativity scene; a display of Mary and Joseph on their way to Bethlehem; recorded messages in English and Spanish and a modern Visitors’ Center open to all. This spectacular annual display, provided by volunteers, is free of charge each evening of the holiday season.” Open every day from now until December 31st, 5pm until 10pm, Mesa Arizona Temple, 525 East Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85203. Phoenix Zoo Lights – From now until January 8th – 5:30p – 10:30p, nightly. This is a Phoenix area favorite. Go enjoy the lights among the animals of the zoo! This is their 25th Anniversary. Along with the beautiful lights they also offer entertainment on some nights, a polar slide and a 4D showing of “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer”. Tempe Marketplace – If you want to see some beautiful lights while you are shopping, a great place to go is Tempe Marketplace! From now until December 31st you can enjoy the Thousands of lights at the Marketplace AND it will be snowing at 7pm and 8 pm every day from December 23st – December 31st.
Las Noches de las Luminarias – This beautiful light display takes place at the Desert Botanical Gardens from 5:30pm until 9:30pm until December 31st. This display is quite magical with eight thousand (yes 8,000) hand-lit luminaria bags and thousands of white twinkle lights. The display brings an incredible glow to the already spectacular Desert Botanical Gardens. You will be walking the many gardens and paths of the Gardens and you will be delighted. The Desert Botanical Gardens is located at 1201 N. Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, AZ 85008. Check out the link for pricing and directions.
Lights of the World Festival – Interested in global culture? This new and exciting exhibit at RawHide runs from now until January29th. “Lights of the World is a unique international lantern arts festival that combines the age-old Chinese tradition of lantern festivals with modern cutting-edge technology and lights. The Lights of the World Festival display extend from 18 to 60 feet, showcasing features of different cultures and civilizations around the globe. With 11 overarching exhibits and 75 stunning displays, Lights of the World promises an unforgettable exploration of global cultures and cuisine.” – from Lights of the World Site. The Lights of the World Festival exhibit is displaying at Rawhide – 5700 W North Loop Rd., Chandler, AZ 85226. This Festival also has a cost. Go to the website link for more information.
